Bostwick granted release

The Gators didn’t have a defensive lineman in the spring and he will now transfer from the program.

Redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Jay-nard Bostwick was granted his release and will transfer from Florida.

Bostwick played in five games during the 2014 season and made three tackles.

The redshirt sophomore has been away from the Florida team since the 2014 season ended for personal reasons, according to Florida coach Jim McElwain. In the spring, Florida had Caleb Brantley, Taven Bryan, Khairi Clark, Thomas Holley and Joey Ivie at defensive tackle. Senior lineman Jonathan Bullard will also split time between defensive end and tackle.

Florida opens fall camp on August 6.
