Detroit Cass Tech brought several prospects and a couple left with new offers. One of those is 2017 offensive guard Jordan Reid. Reid was excited about the Gators’ interest in him.
“This is awesome, Florida is a place that I definitely think would help me fulfill my academics and college football needs, it’s definitely an option that I will keep in mind,” Reid said.
The 6-foot-5, 270 pound lineman plays a little bit of inside and outside and really doesn’t have a preference. The gators aren’t sure yet either.
“Offensive line, either Tackle or Guard they didn’t say,” he said. “I will play where they put me and grind and do my job on and off the field.
Florida changed the routine of Friday Night Lights adding a Thursday night camp for younger prospects and a Saturday camp for linemen. Reid participated both Friday and Saturday.
“I worked out for the Friday Night Lights and the OLline/ Dline camp,” he said. “I did well at both camps but still have room for improvement.”
Reid really liked what he took away from Florida offensive line coach Mike Summers.
“Coach Summers is an excellent coach, he taught me some new things that I’m always going to remember,” he said. The whole coaching staff was excellent.”
Reid took in enough from Gainesville and the Gator program to know that he wants to visit again.
“I will be back most definitely and what stood out the most was the college players were very welcoming and very cool to be around good experiences,” he said.
