Rapid Recap: Gators Media Day 2015

Jim McElwain held his first Florida Media Day on Wednesday and the feel was a pretty positive one. Cody Jones and Amada Wood give their thoughts on everything.

While most people are preparing for a letdown season at Florida with a new staff and some personnel issues on some units on the team, the Florida team and coaching staff hasn’t been showing that at all.

On Wednesday all the Florida coaches and players were on high octane talking about the season ahead. The defense is licking their chops as the unit to lean on this year and excited that the offense will be there to help out and do their part. The offense knows they have work to do, but they want to prove themselves and have worked religiously in the offseason to show it.

The offensive line is the sticking point for most that talk about the gators. They have to replace four starters up front and will rely on eight or more freshmen and sophomores in the two-deep in order to field a unit this fall. Despite that, they have the biggest chip on their shoulder heading into the fall and are ready to show their ability.

Finally, Cody and Amanda discuss the Florida secondary that should be the strongest unit on the team. None of the coaches or players shy away from talking about the ability of the guys that cover the back end of the defense. They are ready to show their stuff as well and excited for a new season and one they plan on starting out a lot better than a year ago.

Here are Cody Jones and Amanda Wood from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium following Florida Media Day 2015. Stay tuned as we bring you more coverage of Media Day than you will find anywhere else on the Internet.
