Gators' SEC basketball schedule released

The SEC schedule was made public on Wednesday night, completing the Florida basketball schedule for the 2015-16 season.

The Southeastern Conference portion of the schedule opens when Florida hosts Georgia on January 2 at 8 p.m. on ESPNU. The Gators hit the road and face Tennessee in their first conference road game on January 6 at 7 p.m.

Instead of the Kentucky game that usually ends the season, Florida will play its final regular season game at Missouri on March 5. The Gators’ final regular season home game is against the Wildcats on March 1.

The Florida non-conference schedule has already been released. It’s highlighted by road games against Saint Joseph’s (November 21), Miami (December 8), Michigan State (December 12) and the season opener at Navy (November 13).

The home schedule features matchups against Florida Gulf Coast (November 27), Richmond (December 1), Florida State (December 29) and West Virginia (January 30). The game against West Virginia occurs during the SEC portion of the schedule between Florida’s game at Vanderbilt on January 26 and against Arkansas on February 3.
