Gators make sure Poole knows he is important

September 1st was the first day college coaches could contact high school juniors via text message. College Park (Ga.) Hapeville Charter cornerback was inundated earlier this week with all of the contact and one of the first to let him know he was wanted was Florida.

The changes in rules come all the time and the newest is the contact with juniors, class of 2017, prospects that started earlier in the week. For William Poole he was busy and Ohio State was the first to catch him via text message. The Florida Gators got him too and made sure to let him know he was a wanted man.

Florida secondary coach Kirk Callahan has been on Poole for the last month and really likes what the young man brings to the table on defense.

“Coach Callahan, he sent me a nice graphic and was telling me I'm #1 on his recruiting board and that I'm a PRIORITY for him,” Poole passed along. “He said how much he wants me to visit as much as possible and to come out to some games and how our relationship can get better now that we can communicate more.”

He does plan on checking out a couple of games in Gainesville and The Swamp, he said the first one on the agenda is the home game with Ole Miss.

He remains open in his recruitment to all and with 30+ offers and all among the nation’s elite programs. He does really like what the Gators have to offer.

It’s a great team,” Poole said. “I'm building a good relationship with their coaching staff, I'm anxious for the chance to get up there in Gainesville and see The Swamp live for myself.”
