The Florida Gators move up in the polls

Florida’s upset of No. 3 Ole Miss sparked a big move in the polls.

Florida jumped to No. 11 in the Associated Press Poll. The 14-spot move from No. 25 last week is tied for the third-largest jump in the poll's history.

The Gators jumped to No. 12 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, moving up 11 spots from last week. Florida was the biggest mover in this week’s poll after the 38-10 blowout of Ole Miss, who dropped to No. 13.

No. 5 LSU, No. 10 Alabama and No. 11 Texas A&M are the three Southeastern Conference teams that remain ahead of Florida.

Florida entered the polls last week for the first time since October 2013.

The Gators head to Columbia to face unranked Missouri on October 10. The Tigers started the year ranked but fell out of the polls after losing to Kentucky last weekend. Missouri beat South Carolina 24-10 on Saturday.

The Gators and Tigers will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the SEC Network.
