Florida Gators move up in polls

Florida climbed in the rankings during its bye week.

The Gators came in at No. 11 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 12 in the Coaches’ Poll on Sunday afternoon, two spots higher than they were in both polls last week.  Florida takes a 6-1 recent into a matchup with Georgia next weekend in Jacksonville.

Florida moved up after losses by No. 7 Utah and No. 9 Florida State, dropping the Utes to No. 14/13 and the Seminoles to No. 15/17.

Georgia, the Gators’ opponent next week, moved up to No. 23 in the Coaches Poll and stayed unranked in the AP Poll while also having a bye week. The Bulldogs and the Seminoles are the only ranked teams remaining on Florida's regular season schedule.

The other Southeastern Conference teams in the rankings are No. 4/4 LSU, No. 7/7 Alabama and No. 21/19 Ole Miss.

The College Football Playoff rankings debut on November 3 on 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
