Florida Gators stay put in Coaches Poll

Florida’s big win didn’t move them up this week’s polls.

The Gators stayed at No. 12 in the Coaches’ Poll and No. 11 in the Assocaited Press Poll after their 27-3 rout of Georgia in Jacksonville.

Florida rushed for 258 yards on Saturday, led by 121 yards and two touchdowns from junior Kelvin Taylor. Freshman Jordan Scarlett added 96 yards on nine carries. Florida quarterback Treon Harris went 8-19 for 155 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

The other SEC teams in the Coaches’ Poll/AP Poll were No. 4/4 LSU, No. 7/7 Alabama, No. 19/19 Ole Miss, No. 24/25 Texas A&M and No. 25/24 Mississippi State.

Florida now has three games against unranked teams -- Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida Atlantic -- before hosting No. 15/17 Florida State on November 28 to close the regular season. When the Gators match up with Vanderbilt next week, Florida will be playing to clinch the SEC East with a win. Even if the Gators lose that game, they would need to beat South Carolina the following week or have the Commodores lose one of their remaining three conference games.

Florida and Vanderbilt will kick off at 12 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
