Gators host big time prospects for Vandy game

The turnstiles keep opening and the Gators continue to host some of the biggest names in recruiting during the season.  It will be a different atmosphere this weekend as the game is a noon time kickoff. That isn’t keep some of the best high profile prospects from being there.

The receiver position is a big highlight for the weekend and here is a rundown of those that we know are visiting.

Story Line: He is an early enrollee and hence his visit for this game. The Under Armour All-American is one of the highest risers among prospects since the start of spring ball and a big  part of what they want to build as far as skill talent at Florida.

Story Line: It is a solid group of future Gators coming in for the game. Multiple visits for all of them. It is great to see Moon making it in and bypassing the big game in Alabama this weekend.

Story Line: Just found out his father is a big Gator fan, but is a guy that stays out of the recruiting process for Keith. He’s a big sturdy athletic receiver, the kind they target early in the process and they did before he committed early to Florida State. FSU is all over him to re-commit and Alabama is on him hard too.  He’s a good one.

Story Line: This one really has heated up, but remains committed to Auburn at this time. He is a super athlete and Florida has recruited him the entire process. This visit is a big one and things could get crazy real quick with Stove.

4* WR Marquis McClain (Auburn Commit)

Story Line: Another Auburn committed receiver and in the panhandle. This one is a surprise visitor for me and not sure what to think here.

Story Line: Saw him play in a 7-on-7 tournament in the summer and he’s a big athletic receiver , again the type the staff really covets. He has a wide range of offers but none from Florida yet.

Story Line: Michigan and Alabama seem the favorites for this south Florida star receiver. His first visit to The Swamp this season, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks after the trip.

Story Line: It is still a little up in the air whether he makes the trip or not, but has emerged as the likely top target at tight end for the 2016 class. Gettng on campus multiple times is a big deal.

Story Line: He is another one that the trip isn’t quite finalized for, but he wants to make it in. He’s also another one that the interest has heated up quite a bit between him and Florida. He was all but set on Georgia, but the mess in Athens has changed his recruitment quite a bit.

Story Line: He’s a true athlete that could play tight end as well. He’s another prospect from the state of Alabama where Florida has really done well this year.

Story Line: Clemson and Syracuse are his leaders and maybe looking for a Florida offer?  He’s a talented kid who is only a junior at this point.

Story Line: May be top player in the entire 2017 class as an offensive tackle. He’s from Orlando and committed to Auburn early. Florida is really recruiting this one hard right now so we will have to see what happens.

Story Line: He’s just up the road some 40 miles from Gainesville and a terrific player for the 2017 class. This will be his second visit for a home game in The Swamp and the Gators are certainly one of his tip schools he is considering.

Story Line: He’s back for the third time this season and this former Nole lock seems to really be looking hard at Florida now. He is one of the top safeties in the state for next year, if not the top, and one the Gators certainly are targeting hard.

Story Line: The younger brother of Gator cornerback Quincy Wilson, he has been to The Swamp numerous times. He’s a special player and he isn’t going to end his recruitment any time soon.

Story Line: Another big receiver and still has two more years of high school to play. He committed really early to the Wildcats, but this is his second trip to The Swamp since that commitment.

Story Line: Here is another big time young player at a position that is always a big need at Florida. They just don’t grow big linemen on trees in The Sunshine State.
