Monstrous list of visitors for Gators vs FSU

Florida will six official visitors this weekend, more than they have this entire recruiting cycle . The overall list is as impressive as you will see anywhere and includes big timers from three different classes. We will break down each 2016 prospect we are expecting and list the rest in what should be a crazy weekend.

Among the visitors expected in this weekend include five 5-star prospects and 42 4-star prospects.  It is a very talented bunch.

OFFICIAL VISITORS

Story Line: This is a late surprise to the list. Haskins is a guy they have recruited all along and is certainly a talent. When he asks to visit for the game, you don’t say no, even if he remains to a Maryland program that doesn’t have a coach right now. We all understand the need at the quarterback position right now.

Story Line: Gator commitment and super junior college player that will make it to his first game. Thompson was heavily pursued during the season and stuck to his guns as a Gator commit. He will enroll in January.

Story Line: Massey is a true athlete and could play a number of positions. Also a junior college prospect, he is a dynamic kick and punt returner and would be a January enrollee. He lists Florida as his favorite right now.

Story Line: Big defensive tackle that camped at Florida in June and really liked it. He was supposed to commit somewhere by now but he has put all of that on hold. Florida only signed one defensive tackle a year ago and the need for the position is huge right now, especially with none on board. They have a lot to sell this young man, but have some work to do to make up in his recruiting.

Story Line: Former Michigan commit hat is now looking around and it looks like Florida and Texas are the two places he would most likely end up. He will be an early graduate and therefore could enroll at Florida in January if he commits to the Gators. Linebacker is a huge need position for the Gators as they have only a single player at the position in the last two classes.

Story Line: He’s committed to Alabama and visited there for the big win over LSU a few weeks ago. The kicker situation is well documented at Florida and he understands that. This will be his second Florida home game, one more than he took in at Alabama. He’s a junior college prospect that doesn’t play football at his current school and will actually have four years to play at the collegiate level. He also would enroll in January.

2016 GATOR COMMITS (non-official visits)

Story Line: This is about 2/3 of the current class and they could help a lot with all of the other visitors on hand. Florida is excited for the group they currently have.

2016 GATOR PROSPECTS

Story Line: Just this week he de-committed from LSU. He has made it to the last two Gator home games and been a huge priority for the staff since May. It is logical to think he could make his commitment this weekend and things are going to be crazy.

Story Line: Another priority for quite a while. Florida seems to have been th front-runner for quite some time, but Florida State is starting to put up a fight for the former Auburn commitment.

Story Line: Lightning fast and a terrific player, Nixon has been pretty quiet while his team continues through the playoffs. Would be a terrific get for the Gators and Florida seems to be right there for this one.

Story Line: He’s a big receiver and teammate of Franks above. Gavin was committed to Florida State a little over a month ago and then walked away from that commitment. However, the Seminoles are likely going to be the team to beat in the end for his services.

Story Line: This one is a big question mark. He has remained a commitment to Miami, even without a head coach. This will be at least his third Florid home game of the season, so he is very familiar with the program at Florida and the needs.

Story Line: Dukes is making his second trip t Gainesville this football season. He’s another big receiver and a talent. Right now, he is on the outside looking in, but I really like what he brings to the table.

Story Line: A real talent at tight end, Eubanks is a huge target for the Gator staff. They want to sign a tight end in the class and he may be the top target at this point.

Story Line: Top defensive tackle on the board and behind the scenes a big Gator lean. He is likely going to take a few more visits, but there isn’t much from keeping this one from happening for the Gators.

Story Line: Florida State commitment that is making his second trip to Florida during the season. The relationship with the Seminoles has been rocky for a little while, but he does remain committed. He is the BIG defensive end prospect the Gators are targeting hard.

Story Line: A pass rushing beast and a guy that Florida has really swung more in their direction in the last month. He is a big time prospect at the position.

4* DE Jordan Smith

Story Line: This would be his first visit to Florida during the season. He is a prospect that defensive line coach Chris Rumph has been on for quite a while.

Story Line: Former Miami commitment that has been looking hard at Florida for a little bit now. He’s been to Gainesville a few times and we have already talked about the need at linebacker, especially those with good size. He’s an exciting pass rusher as well.

Story Line: First trip of the season for Fulton, but he did visit Gainesville in the summer Florida has been right up there for him along with LSU and the Gators have made him a huge priority this recruiting cycle.

Story Line: This one is a bit of a surprise on the list. Nonetheless, he is a big sized player in the secondary and Florida definitely likes that in its prospects.
