Florida Gators fall in polls

An ugly loss forced the Gators to tumble in the polls.

Florida dropped to No. 15 in this week's Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the Associated Press Pol after its 27-2 loss to Florida State on Saturday.

Florida State jumped from No. 14 to No. 9. Other Southeastern Conference teams in the rankings include No. 2 Alabama, No. 17 Ole Miss and No. 23 LSU. The Gators will face the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Atlanta.

Florida's offense struggled throughout Saturday's game, posting just 262 yards. It was the third time in the last four games that the Gators were under 265 yards of offense. The defense played well for the first three quarters before wearing down and allowing multiple big runs to FSU running back Dalvin Cook in the fourth quarter.

Treon Harris continued to have problems at quarterback for the Gators, missing open receivers and sometimes not seeing them open down the field. It is a work in progress before the Florida offense has to take on one of the best defenses in the country next weekend in Atlanta.
