“We stay in contact with each other, but I haven’t set up an official with them,” Gavin said after Under Armour practice on Thursday where he is not participating due to injury. “They are trying to recruit me hard and want me to take an official visit. I still have Alabama and Florida State officials set. Those are my top two.”
What would it take to officially visit Florida? Gavin was a little vague with the reply.
“I don’t know I just have to think about it a little,” he said.
One thing the Gators have going for them is commitment Feleipe Franks. The four-star was the quarterback at Wakulla and recently flipped his commitment from LSU to the Gators.
“Feleipe and I are always talking about recruiting,” Gavin said. “He hit me up the other day to ask me how I am doing up here. We talk all the time.
“He’s a great quarterback. He has a great football IQ and knows everything on the field. He is a great team leader. He’s just an all-around great leader and person.
“We’ve been playing together since rec park ball, so we know each other pretty well and have good chemistry.
The need for quality receivers is great for Florida and the staff will likely turn to Franks even more when he gets on campus in a week to help recruit Gavin until signing day
