With National Signing Day a month away, Joshua Uche has a narrowed his list to a few contenders.
As of Monday night, Uche had only set two official visits: Michigan on the 22nd and Florida on the 29th.
"Both lack depth at my position, so I would have a chance to play early," said Uche. "I fit their scheme and both are really known for their academics."
According to Uche both programs have another thing in common, they both have been loyal.
"[Michigan defensive coordinator] Coach Don Brown has been recruiting me hard since Boston College," he said. "He has always kept in touch, and he feels like I am a perfect fit to his system.. And as soon as he got there he offered me.
"And I really like Gainesville," he added. "They have been recruiting me hard since the camp I went to. Their loyalty to me and their interest in me...well it really sits well with me."
That loyalty and backing from the Florida staff secured an official visit. There the three-star defensive end is looking to see how his life would change as a Gator.
"Just how the lifestyle will be like there, the day-to-day to activities, and whether I like it or not," he said. "I also want to see the atmosphere and if I would be comfortable there."
In the end it's those questions that will help separate his choice from the pack.
"Just the best education for me, and where I can make an impact early are the two main things I am looking at [when I make my decision]."
With two officials set to go, Uche is also considering taking more visits this month, but that will depend on his schedule.
"I’m waiting on some things to settle down before I decide which one to take," he said. "I would like to take all of my officials, so I might try to organize mid-week ones-just to make sure I made the right decision."
