Perine prepared to put on recruiting cap

He visited unofficially this weekend and is ready for the big one next weekend when Lamical Perine visits Florida for his official visit along with about 10 other big time prospects the Gators want in the 2016 class. Consider it a prep run for him to help recruit next weekend.

When asked why he took the extra visit to Gainesville, a place he has been more than a half dozen times already in the last 6-7 months, Lamical Perine’s first response was pretty prophetic.

“I will be down there for the next 3-4 years, why not get used to it,” he said. “I love everything down there.”

He says despite his familiarity with the program and having been to Gainesville several times, there are some things that he learned this weekend.

“Just learning about academics and stuff, and how they will be helping me out,” he said. “I am building a good chemistry with the players.”

On this trip he was hanging around January enrollees Chauncey Gardner and David Reese and says, “I get along good with Chauncey and David Reese is a cool guy as well.”

“The best part of the trip was just getting to spend time with the coaches, mainly Coach Skipper, Coach Mac, and Coach Hughes.”

Next weekend it will be more than just fun stuff going on. Perine will have his recruiting cap on.

“My top targets next week will be Mack Wilson and Kristian Fulton,” he said. “I just want them to enjoy themselves.”
