Gator Gauge: Defensive Florida Targets (January 25)

With National Signing Day just under ten days away, Scout's takes a look at where they stand with a couple of defensive targets.. Who is trending towards Florida?

National Signing Day is under ten days away and Jim McElwain and his staff are working hard to finish strong. takes a look at where  Florida stands with its remaining defenisve targets on the "Gator Gauge."

Five-star defensive end Brian Burns gave a glowing review of his official visit to Florida on Sunday night. He still has to visit both Alabama and Florida State, however, all the momentum is with the Gators on this one.

"I feel like they are more about making you a better man than just a better player," said Burns after his official to Florida. "[Defensive line] Coach [Chris] Rumph is a man of God and he focuses on making you a better man. It stands out most definitely to me."

Lyndell Wilson continues to say that Florida leads his final three with 'Bama and Georgia following the Gators. This has been the same for a while now. However, there is a good reason we don't have Wilson trending up. This one still remains a fight between Florida and Alabama. Wilson, a Montgomery, Alabama native, will visit Gainesville this weekend with his mom. To say that his mother needs to give the four-star linebacker her approval is an understatement.

Also another interesting note, he told Scout's John Garcia, who covers Alabama, that he is impacted by what committed players/the team tell him about a program.

This one is still not cut and dry Florida-no matter the quotes.

If you've watched the video, you heard Bob Redman say that in the last few days he has seen Kristian Fulton trend a little more towards Florida.  The cornerback took an official visit to Arkansas this past weekend and is expected in Gainesville next week.

Fulton still has reservations about the no defensive backs coach at Florida-that is the reason we are keeping him at even. This upcoming visit will truly show where he stands.

UPDATE: A lot of speculation now that he might not visit Florida this weekend. He might be considering another official at this point. We will keep you posted.

"I have heard it a possibility for the last day or so.  I think he still visits. Think Dad is looking for some answers from UF," said Redman.

UPDATE Tues night: Fulton has confirmed with Bob Redman that he will visit Florida this weekend. Great news for the Gators.

I'll make this short and sweet: Jaleel Laguins is trending away. He will visit Georgia this weekend.

Dee Walker told Bob Redman that he had a great visit to Florida, however, he did leave Gainesvilel without an offer. He personally stays even with his feelings with the Gators. If an offer would come things would change quickly. He is also trending away because it is becoming less likely an offer will come. He is the back up plan for right now.

Although we did not mention him in the video [we talked to him post video], Vosean Joseph is trending upwards. He told that he is still considering Alabama, however, he kept referring to Florida as his home. Unless the Tide lose out in some other linebacker and pressure Joseph, the Miami native seems to be Florida bound.
