"It was amazing," said Wooten after his visit to Gainesville."Getting on campus and meeting some new people, great people... This is a beautiful town, campus and it was great talking with the coaches and seeing all the facilities."
Wooten, who holds an offer from the Gators, really had the chance to connect with the staff during his time on campus.
"They are telling me that they really want me here. After this year they will need some linebackers, so they look forward to trying to get me on campus.
"They like my size at a young age," he added. "They like that I can move, and that I am long. They see me playing the outside position, being able to do multiple things like rushing the passer or dropping back."
The three-star linebacker's main recruiter is Florida assistant Greg Nord.
"He is a great guy. He is very energetic so it's always great to be around coach Nord," he said. "He has been trying to get me on campus so it's great I came down today."
But his respect for the Florida program was not something that happened overnight. The Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb standout already had an appreciation for the Gators' defense.
"I see why it's among the top ten in the country. They definitely earned that spot,"said Wooten. "[Florida Defensive coordinator] Coach [Geoff] Collins is amazing, and what they are doing on the defensive side of the ball is really unmatchable across the country. It is definitely something I would be interested being apart of."
In the end, it was interacting with the coaches that vaulted this visit to "amazing."
"Just the coaches and how they interact with each other and the players. I saw the program, and I can see why people come here. It's a great place to be....I'll definitely be back in the next few weeks, months."
"I don't have any favorites, but I am definitely interested in the University of Florida."
As he takes his visits the next few months, Wooten knows he will be looking for a program that will provide him with the balance he needs.
"Where I feel the most comfortable at, and where I fit in the best. Of course I want the best education and the best athletic opportunity to me, and thats what it is going to come down to."
