The coaching staff had one simple message to the visitors over the weekend.
Message received for Moon, who says he had "an amazing" visit to Gainesville.
"I had a great time," said the four-star linebacker. "Players were cool and welcoming. I got to talk football with [linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator] Coach [Randy] Shannon, and I was picking up on things he was saying. It was great just getting to know everyone."
Moon is no stranger to Gainesville. The Hoover High standout has visited plenty of times before, but on this trip a few things stood out.
"Just the academics were great and the support they get at every sporting event not just football was crazy," he said. "I was just glad I got along with the players."
"They did a great job [hosting] and we had fun," he said. "They said you got to handle your time wisely [at UF] and hold yourself accountable. It's easy to not be on top of things, but there is great people about you to help you out."
Florida hosted plenty of other recruits this weekend, although Moon did not recruit much himself, he felt positive about where the Gators stand. "I think as a team we showed them a good time."
So did Jim McElwain and his staff seal the deal with Moon with this visit?
"Yes it did for sure," said Moon.
