2017 Gators Board: Wide Receivers

Our inside look into the 2017 Florida board continues on FightinGators.com, as we switch our focus to the wide receiver targets.

Florida has already secured one commitment in the 2017 class from a wide receiver, Daquon Green. But don't be surprised to see Jim McElwain add at least one more in this class. Here are the major targets:

Four-star Tampa Bay Technical wide out Daquon Green has been committed to McElwain since last July. He has mentioned several times that he remains all-in with the school-haven't seen that change. He visited Gainesville for Florida's junior day, but still plans to visit other schools. Ole Miss and North Carolina seems to be the school in the running.

Five-star Trevon Grimes told FightinGators.com that Florida moved up with him after his junior day visit, however, Grimes seems to be an Ohio State lean at the moment.

The Gators have work to do if they want to land four-star  James Robinson.  The Lakeland senior playmaker told Scout, Clemson is his number one school at present. The Tigers have been trending for the standout, however, Robinson continues to discuss the Gators and Alabama as other suitors high on his list.

Tampa native, four-star Juwan Burgess has a few schools in contention.  Florida is in the mix of things along with Clemson, Florida State, Miami and Syracuse. Burgess visited Gainesville in the fall for a game. After that trip, he called the atmosphere at the Swamp amazing.

For C.J. Cotman, Michigan and Florida State are the two schools high on his radar. The Gators continue to be in the fray, but they in a better place with several other wide receivers on this board.

Florida is very high with Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Admiral Farragut Academy wide out Matthew Landers. Landers' offer list includes the Gators, Kentucky, Florida State, Louisville and Iowa State among others. Along with Florida, fellow SEC school, Kentucky, has the 2017 target's attention.

Four-star Henry Ruggs, from Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama, holds offers from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Penn State among others. Ruggs says he is drawn to the SEC and like Alabama, Florida and Georgia right now.

The Canes seem to be in the best position for four-star wide receiver Rodney Scott out of Miami. He holds offers from Alabama, Florida, West Virginia, Kentucky and Miami as well.

The battle of the in-state schools continue for Lavarus Tigner. The four-star out of Deerfield Beach was a one time Florida pledge and Miami pledge continues to hold both schools high in his recruitment.

Alabam and Auburn continue to rank high among the schools closest to landing four-star Nick Collins. The Alabama native holds offers from the likes of Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Louisville, in addition to his in-state offers. The Tiger and the Bulldogs are the other schools making some traction in his recruitment.

Northsides' Jaylan Sandifer holds an offer from Vanderbilt, however, Florida has expressed interest in the Georgia receiver.
