Mark Pope Picks Up Florida Offer

Florida is in the mix for Mark Pope. The Gators were one of the latest to offer the 2019 Miami (Fla.) Southridge wide receiver. Pope discusses his new offer from Florida and what it means for him.

Mark Pope has exploded onto the recruiting scene.

"It's something I am really enjoying," said the wide receiver from Southridge High School.  "It's big; it's a dream come true for me."

The rising sophomore already holds offers from plenty of big time programs including: AlabamaGeorgiaNC StateNebraskaTennesseeWest Virginia and more recently Florida

"It feels good. It feels great," said Pope after picking up his offer from the Gators. "Florida, I like the coaches, I like the players, and I like the offense they run. Florida is a big school I always wanted."

Pope was offered by Florida wide receivers assistant, Kerry Dixon, and although it is his more recent offer, Pope is very familiar with the program.

"I always grew up watching Florida, Florida and 'Bama," he said.  "My friend I know he goes to Florida, [wide receiver] Antonio Callaway. Antonio, he just told me like stay prayed up and you're time will come and it finally came."

Pope hopes to visit Gainesville sometime in the summer, but has no plans to visit any school before then. Hee says his only focus this spring is to work hard and get better.

"Working on my route running and getting bigger."

Apart from the schools that have offered, Pope is hearing from Miami and says he believes Syracuse will be the next school to offer.
