"I had a lot of fun," said the four-star forward. "It was amazing. It was definitely great. Whenever a big program like Kentucky comes in it's going to be great."
Nickelberry not only enjoyed the atmosphere at the O'Connell Center, but he had the opportunity to talk to the coaches about where things stand.
"They are excited about me, and they like how I progressed over the years," explained Nickelberry. "It was really just they've already seen me enough over the summer and through the high school season. I know they are going to offer, but it's just a matter of time."
Nickelberry was rewarded for his patience and picked up an offer from the Gators after his trip to Gainesville.
"I love getting offers from in-state schools. I've liked Florida as long as I can remember," he said. "Definitely [like] the history. They have sent two of the best big men in the NBA right now, so definitely the history."
Nickelberry claims offers from Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Memphis, George Mason, San Francisco,Florida and FGCU, however, according to the Windermere Prep standout, he is also hearing from UCLA, Cal, Texas and Arizona.
"It's definitely been fun, but I have some work to do," he said about this upcoming AAU season. "I'm just really trying to make a bigger name for myself, play hard and try to get noticed by more coaches."
The Windermere, Florida native says he hopes to make a decision at the end of the summer.
"I am definitely looking at a school that can help me progress in a big way in my skill set," he said. "If they can get me where I want to be, which is the NBA, and definitely help me become a man."
