Gator Blitz: Recruiting Update 3/11

"Gator Blitz" recaps all of the big Florida recruiting storylines of the last few days in one place.

"Gator Blitz" is back with more insider info on Florida recruiting. Here are the headlines from this past week:

Top Sophomore Wants Florida Offer

Nicholas Bonitto wants an offer from the Gators. The St. Thomas Aquinas defensive end is one of the top sophomores coming up the ranks. The athletic pass rusher told National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons this week that the Gators offer would be "huge" and that he would "love to be there".

"I've talked to [head] coach [Jim] McElwain once, and he sounded like he was very interested in me,telling me to come up there one time" said Bonitto. "I love Florida, thats my dream school right there. I've loved them since I was a kid. I really like the D-end that came out, Alex McCalister, I loved watching him this year. It's just a great place to play at."

He holds plenty of offers already including: Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, NC State, Ohio State, West Virginia, LSU and Tennessee to name just a few.

Miami and Ohio State are the two schools standing out for him right now.

Florida Offers West Coast Standout

The Gators were the latest to offer four-star cornerback Elijah Blades after his standout performance in the Opening Los Angeles. Before the offer, Blades said Florida would be one of his top two schools. So it's safe to say the Gators are in a good place.

Gators Pledge Looking Around

Florida will need to continue to recruit Kadeem Telfort. The Miami Norland offensive lineman is still keeping his options open. He told Scout on Sunday in Miami that LSUAlabamaAuburn and West Virginia remain in the mix.

Florida Making Cut for Four-Star Corner

Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee and Miami will make the cut for Marco Wilson, Gators cornerback Quincy Wilson's brother.

"All the coaches treat me like family," said Wilson. "I have a great connection with all the coaches and they always keep in touch with me, always checking up on me, and I like that because I like to know the team is taking their time to recruit him."

More Offers Out

Visitors on Friday

The Gators will host a couple of visitors today.

Four-star cornerback William Poole looks like he is leaning towards Florida and Georgia.

Markquese Bell is also expected to be in Gainesville today, he is an athlete from New Jersey. He was being recruited by Torrian Gray over at Virginia Tech.

Clemson and Florida State are the two teams to beat right now for Justin Watkins

K.J. Britt does not hold an offer from Florida, however, he could leave with one after his trip to Gainesville.
