"I'm pretty excited," said Britt about his offer from the Gators. "Coach [Jim] McElwain offered me, and he just said he wants me to be a Gator... He talked about the tradition at Florida and things like that."
McElwain offered the three-star linebacker during Britt's visit on Friday. UF now joins Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Tennessee and Mississippi among others. Although Florida is his most recent offer, Britt knows plenty about the program.
"I know a pretty good bit about Florida," he said. "They play good football, they are good academically, and I know that they put out several top of the line players."
The Oxford, Alabama native visited the Swamp for two days. On Friday, he made the rounds with the football staff, while on Saturday he took a tour of the school itself.
"I talked to the coaches, I went to some players meetings and then I watched some practice," he said. "I loved practice, the intensity was great. Weather was good and the players were flying around. They were field to field back to back, I love that pace."
An important part of practice was seeing Gators assistant Randy Shannon coach up the linebackers.
"I got to see coach Shannon. He is a teacher and he will get on to you, but he will tell you why he is on you. He is great."
It's safe to say the Florida visit put the Gators in the mix.
"[Florida is] high [on my list]. I love Florida," stated Britt. "I feel like they can get me to the next level. I mean the visit was great, everything was good."
However, with so many new suitors Britt is not prepared to make any decision at the moment.
"Right now I'm going day to day trying to get all my options ready, because when I commit I'm not going to decommit," he said. "Before I make my decision I want to pray and talk to my family."
