Maurice Goolsby is a talented basketball and football prospect out of Dunnellon, Florida. At 6-foot-5, 195-pounds, one can see why college programs are keeping their eyes on the talented player. On the gridiron, Goolsby already holds offers from Florida, Florida State and North Carolina.
"I just have to humble myself about it," said Goolsby. "I just try to not think about it and just let them come as they do."
On Thursday, Goolsby started to dive into his recruiting process, he took a visit to Gainesville, his first trip inside The Swamp and his first chance to see a college practice.
"It was a nice atmosphere," he said. "It felt at home actually for my first visit."
Seeing the talent and the speed in which the team practices opened Goolsby's eyes.
"To see how good and how much better I have to be to get to that level. It was very intense."
Goolsby was also able to have some face time with the Florida coaching staff and especially with UF wide receiver's coach Kerry Dixon.
"He [Dixon] used a lot of detail like foot work and sinking your hips and things like that," he said. "They can get you better so you can get the next level.
"They [the staff] want me to be a Gator," added Goolsby, "and to keep my grades up and things like that."
He is planning to visit North Carolina and Florida State sometime in the summer.
