It's Tuesday afternoon, which means it's time for a quick Florida recruiting update with Gator Blitz.
Two Big Visitors Make it to Campus
Five-star athlete from Virginia, Devon Hunter made the trip to Gainesville on Monday. The Indian River standout did not leave Monday night, instead he decided to stay an extra day in Gainesville. Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Analyst Michael Clark is set to talk to Hunter about his visit.
UPDATE: Clark caught up with Hunter, who said he had an eye opening visit to Gainesville.
"I really enjoyed the entire trip, but it was great seeing them practice and having a chance to bond with the coaches. It was a fast-paced, intense practice. They really focus on technique with their defensive backs, which I like. They want you to be physical and make plays on the ball. I really like the way they do things. The visit definitely opened my eyes and helped Florida."
Amir Riep also was on hand for Monday's practice.
"They explained to me that by the time I would get there, they will have a lot of open competition as they have some guys that will be leaving," said Riep to Scout's Dave Berk. "I really wasn’t surprised by anything I saw, but thought it would be bigger. Overall, I would give the visit a grade of a “B”."
Along with his dad, the four-star cornerback will make other visits. As of Monday night, Riep does not have any set trips, but says Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. In the last week, he has also visited Kentucky and Tennessee. His trip to Knoxville was his second trip to see the Vols.
The Gators Make the Cut
Markquese Bell visited The Swamp this spring and the Gators made an impression. On Monday the four-star athlete released his top ten which included Florida.
Geography could play a factor in his recruitment, with Bell wanting to stay close to Grandma. Temple and Rutgers are close to where he lives and should not be discounted.
