"The coaching staff was great, great people, great facilities, great everything. I loved it," said the IMG Academy playmaker. "From the way I interacted with them, the environment, it seemed like a great place."
Hightower was able to tour the school, the facilities and even took in a softball game during his visit.
"It was great," he said. "I went around the campus, and I felt like it was a great environment and it felt like home.'
"We just had a talk about what I want, and it seemed like whatever choice I made they were happy for me," said Hightower.
According to Hightower, it was nice not to have that added pressure in the conversation with the coaches.
The staff left a "great impression. Coming into the visit I didn't really interact with them like that, talking to them, and being around them was great," he said. "Just the cool laid back personality and being able to talk to them, if I did end up going there, probably being able to talk to them if i needed them."
Apart from the Gators, Tennessee has also made an early impression on the 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide out.
"I haven't visited there yet. I plan on going there sometime soon," he said.
Although has hasn't visited Knoxville, there are a few things that stand out about the Vols program.
"The history, the tradition, and my interaction with [defensive coordinator] Bob Shoop. He is a great person, and I talk to him a lot."
Apart from a trip to Tennessee, Hightower is expecting to make a few visits in the next week.
"I'm probably going to go to Auburn and Alabama next week with some of my IMG teammates."
The big, physical receiver is a national prospect and has received a plethora of offers. Florida joins Alabama, Florida State, West Virginia, Arizona State, Auburn, California, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and UCLA, among others, in the fight to land Hightower.
