Gators Four-Star Pledge Daquon Green Sees Florida's Potential

TAMPA, Fla.-- Daquon Green sees plenty of potential at Florida. The Gators four-star wide receiver pledge took a recent visit to Gainesville to see the team in action in the Orange and Blue Debut this month. Green discusses the game and where things stand in his recruitment.

Daquon Green committed to Jim McElwain and his staff last summer, and since he made that pledge the four-star wide receiver has been loyal and very impressed by how the program has been run by the staff Florida

"My relationship with them [the UF staff] is strong," said Green,  "because I met all of their families, their sons who play football as well. Me and [UF defensive line coach] Chris Rumph, me and his son can connect... Me and [wide receivers] coach [Kerry] Dixon are really close."

The Tampa Bay Technical playmaker recently visited the Gators for the Orange and Blue Debut. After the game, Green says he left impressed by the offense's potential.

"They have talent all the way around the field," he said.  "They have a  lot of talent that just came in, even though they are missing some, they got a lot to replace them with and probably could be better. This season should be outstanding."

With young wide receivers like Joshua Hammond and Freddie Swain competing for playing time as freshmen, Green knows if he puts in the effort, he too can compete early on.

Although committed to the Gators for almost a year, Green still receives interest from schools. Florida, Miami and Georgia have all stopped by Green's school, while Green says Ole Miss is expected to stop by this spring.

The Scout 300 receiver remains solid in his commitment to UF, but is expected to take a few more trips.

Some expected stops, "North Carolina, Ole Miss, Michigan" and back to Gainesville.

Green discusses his recruitment in more detail and his goals this spring in the video above.
