Jonathan King is a prospect on the rise. In the last few months, the 2018 defensive end's list of suitors expanded quickly. The Tampa Bay Technical standout now holds offers from: Florida, Miami, NC State, USF, Penn State, and Louisville among others.
"It's a good feeling and encouraging," said King. "It gives you a leadership role on the team and gives you more responsibilities."
Although it is still very early in his recruitment, three schools have shown plenty of interest early, "UF, Miami and Louisville."
King most recently took a visit to Gainesville for the Gators' Orange and Blue Debut last month.
"It was great," he said. "I had a lot of fun. The school is very proud of the team and proud of the football program.. proud of the schools itself. It was just a great atmosphere."
He has been able to develop a good relationship with Florida defensive line coach Chris Rumph.
"Me and him are pretty good friends," added King. "He just checks in to see if everything is good and talk about football."
King is in no rush to make a decision.
"I am probably going to drag it out to my senior year. Keep my options open, so I can look around and see what I like."
He will start looking around this summer, when he will be making stops at a few schools.
"Clemson, FSU, UF again I think and some others," he said. "I might be visiting Penn State."
On these visits, he will keep an eye on a few things that will help him make his decision.
"I want the school to be proud of the school, program," he said. " What the schools offers out of football and football itself."
