It's Tuesday, so that means "Gator Blitz" is back! Florida has been busy on the road the last few weeks, and with spring games happening around the state this week expect the staff to continue to check in on a few targets.
The coaches will also see potential targets this summer as the staff continues to work through creating a satellite camps schedule. On Friday we listed a few camps already confirmed, here is an updated look at the schedule:
**The ones in BOLD are the latest additions**
June 3-4: Mercer University (Macon, Ga.)
June 8: Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Fla.)
June 9: Wagner College (New York)
June 12: Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia (Florida/Maryland/ODU)
June 12: Sound Mind, Sound Body Camp (Tampa, Florida)
June 12: Wayne State (Detroit, Michigan)
June 14: Valdosta State Football Camp (Valdosta State University Field House in GA)
June 15: Valdosta State Football Camp (Location TBD but in Georgia)
Valdosta State Football Camp (Grady High School in Atlanta, Georgia)
June 17: Blount High School in Alabama
We are still expecting to see camps in Texas, North Carolina and more in Florida before the schedule is finalized.
Bama Offers Florida Pledge
We knew this was pretty close to happening, Alabama offered Gators four-star pledge, Kadarius Toney, on Tuesday morning. At this moment however, the Crimson Tide did not offer Toney as a quarterback, only as an athlete. UF right now is the only one between the two that is giving the Blount High playmaker a chance under center. Unless 'Bama changes its mind, this is not going to be an offer that threatens Florida. It is a scenario to watch for any change.
2018 WR Names UF in Top Seven
Warren J. Thompson has a top seven. The four-star 2018 wide receiver named his list on twitter on Monday.
On last Friday's "Gator Blitz" we wrote about Thompson's top six, Ole Miss is the school that was added to this updated list. The Hurricanes and the Gators continue be the top two schools. The Canes right now have the edge.
Gators Makes the Cut for Four-Star
Florida made Ty Chandler's top ten.
It's an uphill battle for Florida. Good news, Chandler, who has not visited Gainesville, still has UF on his mind; bad news, the four-star running back already has seen and likes Auburn, Tennessee and Clemson and has them ahead.
The Gator Gauge
Latest: Four-star corner Latavious Brini is still evaluating his options. At one point we saw the Scout 300 defensive back trending towards Florida, this was right after his offer from the Gators. Since then Brini's stock has skyrocketed. Although UF remains in a very good spot with the South Florida native, other schools are firmly in the mix. He is set to visit Notre Dame in June and Florida will hope to get him back on campus this summer. A visit from Brini could see the trend meter switch back around again.
Latest: The Miami pledge has visited Gainesville countless times. At this moment Christopher Henderson is a Canes commit, but the staff continues to make a dent in that and Henderson is listening and likeing what he is hearing from the Gators.
Latest: Although the Miami Southridge corner did not visit earlier this month, but he is still expected to visit Gainesville soon. The Gators continue to sit very well with Shawn Davis. He should be considered a lean towards Florida at this time.
Latest: Elijah Blades told FightinGators.com this week that his top three are: Florida, Utah and Arizona are his top three. The fact the Gators made the cut is not shocking. The four-star corner from California has told us plenty of times that UF was his dream school. He plans to visit this summer. He still has some work to do academically, but if he does visit Gainesville this summer, he will certainly be one to keep an eye on.
Latest: DeeJay Dallas has a rough top three and UF isn't among them. Michigan, Miami and Alabama are the three schools standing out. In a recent interview with National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons, the four-star athlete says those are the three schools he was high on.
Latest: CeeDee Lamb continues to be one to watch for Gators fans. He picked up a Florida offer, decommitted from OU and then now named UF in his top 10. A summer visit will certainly move the trend meter even more towards Florida
Latest: Adarius Lemons is committed to North Carolina, however, Doug Nussmeier and Tim Skipper continue to do some work with Lemons. The four-star running back is considering a visit to Florida and that is step one in turning his recruitment around.
**The Gators have plenty of other targets, and this is just a small sample of where things stand with a few targets**
Florida offered Miami pledge Joshua Jobe this week. The 2018 four-star safety committed to the Canes soon after landing the offer, calling it his dream school. Although the Hurricanes remain one of his top schools, Jobe is expected to take visits to UF and Michigan. The Gators do have a chance in flipping the playmaker out of Miami. He is listening to what UF is saying and is hoping to take a trip to Gainesville. Jobe could also be an early enrollee option.
The Gators were the first to offer 2020 safety Sheridan Jones from Bishop Sullivan Catholic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.null
