Delanie Gourley picked up the win for the Gators after striking out 13 batters and only allowing one hit. The shutout was her ninth on the year.

“Delanie really commanded how that tempo went,” head coach Tim Walton said. “She was really, really special today.”

Amanda Lorenz’s one-run blast in the third inning proved to be all the Gators needed offensively, but they added four more runs for insurance in the fifth and seventh innings.

Walton was impressed with how Aubree Munro and Taylore Fuller faired at the plate – both combined for three RBIs.

“[Munro and Fuller] work so hard, they’re so competitive and they get down on themselves, so when they can find any ounce of success offensively, we’re going to be tough to beat,” Walton said.

Florida will now wait to play the winner of the second elimination game (UCF vs. Alabama State/FAU) in the regional final on Sunday May 22 at 12 p.m. If Florida should lose that game, a second game will be played at 2:30 p.m.
