The quarterback was suspended in January along with teammate, wide receiver Antonio Callaway. Both players had not participated in spring practice, however, their status changed in June, when both were allowed to attend classes at UF once again.
There were hints that Harris was set to move to wide receiver this fall if he remained in Gainesville. In 2015 Harris appeared in 12 games and finished the year with nine touchdowns, six interceptions and 1, 676 yards - with a 50.6% pass completion rate.
Harris joins linebacker Jeremi Powell, kicker Austin Hardin, wide receivers Alvin Bailey, Ryan Sousa and offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey in his decision to transfer from the program.
