Navaughn Donaldson liked his visit with the Gators

One of the key areas that the Florida Gators need to solidify in the 2017 recruiting class is on the offensive line. With that in mind they had a few very good ones in this weekend to visit for Friday Night Lights. One of those was 4-star Miami, Florida offensive tackle Navaughn Donaldson who liked what he saw.

Navaughn Donaldson didn’t participate in the camp over the weekend, but he was seen watching intently the things that were going on. After Friday Night Lights was over, we ran into him for a few quick questions.

Donaldson said he does like the program at Florida and that he had some good words with the staff and they let him know of his importance.

“I like the school, the stadium and the work ethic her,” he said. “I talked to some of (the staff). I have a good chance of starting here and a good chance of getting playing time early.

He understands the need for offensive tackles and that has the Miami commitment putting the Gators high on his list of possibilities at the end of the recruiting process.

“They really need me at both tackle spots, so I like that,” he said. “Florida is up there, I like it.”

With fall camp starting for both the Gators and his high school program, Donaldson knows he will return to see Gainesville at least one more time before all is said and done.

“I will be back for an official visit,” he said.
