The School announced via Twitter Monday morning that redshirt junior linebacker Matt Rolin was no longer with the team, something we have prepared our readers for at Fightin' Gators for a week now.
Rolin, who was constantly fighting injuries sat out most of the 2015 season but was inserted late and had double digit tackles in the SEC Championship game against Alabama.
He practiced this spring, seemingly injury free, but didn't seem to really make any headlines.
Fightin' Gators learned during the past week that Rolin would be seeking medical hardship which would allow him to stay on scholarship and not play football, but our group was waiting on him to announce that himself out of respect for the young man.
Florida officials said head coach Jim McElwain would talk more about it Monday afternoon when he speaks to the Florida media.
Stay tuned as we continue to bring you the news covering your Gators.
