Scout 300 DT Fred Hansard Commits to Florida

Florida added another defensive tackle to the class on Friday morning, when Scout 300 DT Fred Hansard made the decision to commit to Florida.

Fred Hansard is a Gator. The Scout 300 defensive tackle made the decision to commit to Florida on Friday morning.

Although he referred to UF as his dream school when he picked up the offer in the winter, it was his recent visit this summer that sealed the deal for the The Hun School standout.

"I love Florida," he said. "When I went up there with my family and my two buddies -- I went on vacation in Jacksonville and we went to Friday Night Lights -- and I loved it there. They showed a lot of love. (Chris) Rumph is one of the best defensive line coaches around. He can develop me to be the best player and be a better man."

His visit to Gainesville lasted all day, and he was able to see how he would fit in.

"The academic part for sure stood out, and how I really felt comfortable there," Florida is in a great place right now. Just the staff and the players and commits [made me feel comfortable]."

Hansard chose the Gators over other finalists Tennessee and Rutgers. Hansard is the third defensive tackle pledge in 2017. He joins Jordon Scott and Javier Edwards
