Wednesday Morning Practice Report

Injuries to offensive linemen more severe than first expected...

Two injuries suffered during a pileup in Tuesday's scrimmage may be more serious than first thought. Florida offensive linemen Jonathan Colon and junior college transfer Anthony Guerrero likely will miss the start of the season.

The injuries come as a serious blow to the depth on the line, and could cause several changes in personnel amongst the starting five.

Colon, who was in a battle with Tavares Washington at left tackle, and Guerrero, a backup at left guard, both will seek treatment for knee injuries. Colon sprained a knee, while Guerrero must undergo arthroscopic knee surgery to repair cartilege damage. Colon could miss four weeks, while Guerrero may miss up to six.

Should Starks need to move back from to right guard to replace the lack of depth at left tackle, junior college transfer would likely slide into the slot at right guard. Otherwise, Washington would remain the starter on the left side.

Check back after tonight's practice for a more in-depth look at the situation on offensive line, including player and coach reactions….
