Florida quarterback Mark Thompson takes huge step in win against Kentucky on Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Fla.-- The Florida running game received a huge boost on Saturday. Gators running back Mark Thompson discusses his performance and more after the win over Kentucky.

Mark Thompson will not by shy, he did not have the debut he hoped for when Florida opened up its season against UMass a week ago. However, on Saturday, the running back showed a glimpse on what his future could look like.

"When I go out there, I don’t think about what happened the week before," said Thompson after the win. "I don’t think what’s going to happen the next week. I just go out there and give it my all for 60 minutes."

In his first game for UF against the Minutemen, Thompson only amassed 22 yards on six carries and he also dropped a few passes. However, against Kentucky, the running back showed great field vision and his potential. He finished with 59-yards and a touch down in 15 attempts in the 45-7 win.

“It felt amazing," said Thompson.“It felt really good...I’ll be looking forward to scoring a lot more.”
