The 23rd ranked Florida recorded the shut out that evaded the Gators last week against Kentucky. UF moved to 3-0 after blanking North Texas 32-0. The The defense dominated the Mean Green offense from start to finish, never allowing the visitors to gain any ground or momentum.

Medical Report: The medical report is a little higher this week as the Gators' starting quarterback Luke Del Rio had to leave the game in the third quarter. The signal caller was hit late and his left knee was then tended to by the trainers on the field. Del Rio walked off the field to the locker room and was replaced by Austin Appleby. After the game, UF Head coach Jim McElwain told reporter Appleby will likely be their guy next week and that Del Rio's injury "doesn't look great."
Game Ball: Gators linebacker Jarrad Davis receives the game ball this week. Davis had four solo tackles, two assisted and 1.5 sacks for an 11-yard loss.

They Said it: "It was a good win, not a great win," said McElwain. "There were a lot of good things on defense; only giving up 50-yards is pretty impressive. Our energy was really good, we produced on offense, but we have to put points on the board when you're in the read area. We took a couple of points off the board trying to make a statement, and I would do it again. We have to be able to punch the ball into the end zone.
McElwain adds, "I saw a bunch of guys who did a really good job with film study," said the head coach about the defense. "They're starting to understand the preparation it takes to help you play faster...Guys are starting to understand it's more than just the practice on the field, it's the cerebral practice it takes knowing your opponent and I think they did a heck of a job with that."

They Said it: "You want to be the guy thats got the ball in his hands. I'm excited about my opportunity. It breaks my heart that it had to come by an injury," said Florida quarterback Austin Appleby about Luke Del Rio's injury. "I'm really hoping he'll be back with us and healthy as soon as possible. I'm ready to roll, we have a job to do."
They Said it: "Their players played extremely hard, probably the best defense in the country," said North Texas head coach Seth Tittrell.
