Stacy Kirby is among the elite defensive ends in the 2018 class. The Scout 300 player holds offers from several top programs including from Florida. On Saturday, Scout's No. 17 defensive end in the class was present to see an elite performance at The Swamp. Kirby made the trek from Orlando, Florida to see the Gators defense blank North Texas on Saturday.
"What stood out was the defensive pressure," he said. T"he defense didn't allow them to score. The kept them to zero points the whole game it was amazing to watch."
"The defense was amazing to see it was a great experience to watch a great defense like that to work as hard as they could."
Although seeing the Florida defense make school history in the win stood out to the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, he also enjoyed The Swamp experience. "The atmosphere at the home field and that they give each player [good reception stood out]."
According to Kirby, the Florida staff has provided some support during the recruiting process.
"They have just been showing me so much hope," he explained. "They just see so much in me, and they are just proud of what I'm doing on and off the field as a person."
Kirby is seeing plenty of suitors show interest, however, there are a few schools that are recruiting him a little harder than others.
"Florida State has been recruiting me pretty heavy. Ohio State and Miami (Fl) have also been recruiting me," he said. "They all tell me good things. They tell me I can grow as a player and as a a person. They just tell me what I can do to improve my game period.
Kirby has no more visits planned right now.
"We just leave it day by day, we don't rush into things," he said about his decision timeline. "We just let the year go by. We just live in the now pretty much."
