Is Vick Looking at the Gators?

Is quarterback/ athlete Marcus Vick looking at the Florida Gators?

Perhaps the most popular recruit in America is Marcus Vick from Newport News (Va.) Warwick High School. Of course, he is the younger brother of Mike Vick, the former Virginia Tech standout QB and the first player selected in April's NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Like his older brother, Marcus is a high school quarterback that most colleges are courting to play quarterback, while others like him as an athlete. Vick, 6-0 and 185 pounds, runs in the 4.5 forty range. Right now, he has a few favorite schools.

"Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Virginia, Clemson, Missouri, and Michigan are the schools I like right now," said Vick. "I know that I will visit Georgia, Tennessee and Notre Dame for sure."

Last season as a junior, Vick threw for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdown passes. He also rushed for 600 yards and 11 scores. In one game this season, he rushed for 130 yards, had an 83-yard kickoff return and one passing TD in a 17-14 victory. Mr. Vick can pretty much write his own ticket. He is a truly gifted athlete that could play anywhere in the country, but he will only visit a lucky few before putting pen to paper on National Signing Day. Here is what Vick had to say about some of his favorite schools.

"Georgia has a great talent pool and I think there is an opportunity to play early there. I like the high powered offense at Miami and at Miami, they have a great player at every position. The Notre Dame name speaks for itself. I like the school and they have a good coaching staff. Michigan has a great football tradition and a great stadium. It is the biggest stadium that I have ever seen. Tennessee has a commitment to be the best and I love their atmosphere on game day."

Florida has offered Vick and they did so as a quarterback. At this time, it appears they will have to fight to even get a visit Warwick High School star.

One thing is for certain, Marcus Vick is a wanted man and a popular recruit. His name says it all.
