Update: WR Ben Obomanu

One of the top Prospects in the South, Obomanu narrows choices.

"I've got it narrowed down to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Nebraska," said Ben Obomanu, the top wide receiver prospect in the state of Alabama. "After watching Nebraska play, they really do need a wide receiver like they've been telling me. I went to the Alabama/UCLA game. They throw the ball some, but they run the option a lot. They did rotate a lot of receivers in the game, and they're losing some after this year. So, I'd have a chance to get on the field early there."

"I went to the Auburn/Ole Miss game to check out the game atmosphere. I got to talk to Tommy Tuberville and Jason Campbell. I was very impressed with Campbell; he's very advanced for just being a freshman. If I were to go there, he'd still only be a sophomore."

Obomanu had planned to attend the Florida/Tennessee game on an unofficial visit, and it is not known weather he will reschedule at this time. "It's tough for me to travel later in the fall, because I'll be playing basketball too."

When reached earlier this summer, Obomanu had come away very impressed with Nebraska, but it seems like his desire to stay a bit closer to home is starting to take hold. "At first I would say that Alabama was the leader, but Florida and Auburn have pretty much pulled even. I would probably say now that Alabama and Florida a little bit over Auburn."

Borderwars.com profiled the Selma High School star earlier this summer. He is one of the top prospects at any position in the south, and one of the top wide receivers in the nation.
