Game Day Headquarters: The Outback Bowl

The Florida Gators are looking to stop a two game skid and end their 2016 season on a positive note as they take on the powerful Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big ten in the Outback Bowl in Tampa on Monday. Here is a look at our coverage of the game as we have been in Tampa all week covering the team.

The Outback Bowl

Tampa Florida, Raymond James Stadium

 Monday January 2, 2017; 1 p.m.

The Lowdown…  The two teams come in very evenly matched Florida has a top 10 defense, while the Hawkeyes a top 25 defense. The Gators are trying to find their way on offense rating 115th in the country so far this season, while the Hawkeyes know what they want to do, but are behind the Gators at 120th in offense.

Florida will have to try and exert their will running the ball against a stout Iowa defense that doesn’t try and fool anyone with blitzes or movement. The Iowa offense wants to do the same against a beat up middle of the defense for the Gators.

Florida is better at causing turnovers and one miscue either way could be the difference in this game. Forcing Iowa to pass will be paramount and I believe the key to the game.

This should be close, but I will go… FLORIDA 16   IOWA 10
