The No. 15 cornerback on Scout made his decision during his official visit. Stewart chose Florida over: Virginia Tech, Florida, Arizona State, TCU, USC and Arkansas among others.
“Florida puts out a lot of DBs,” Stewart said when trimming his list. “I’ll be walking into a place that puts out a lot of DBs in the league. And with the guys they’re losing, I’ll have a chance to go in and play.”
UF assistant Tim Skipper was Stewart's main recruiter during the process, and in an interview with FightinGators.com, Stewart's mother,
"As a whole we have a love for Florida," said Jackie Baham-Robertson. Skipper "came here and then he went to the school. It was nice. It was really no pressure. We talk to coach Skip a lot. It was basically just catching up, just regular talk between me, my husband and Brad."
This is Florida's third corner pledge in the 2017 class including: three-star South Florida native Shawn Davis and four-star defensive back Marco Wilson. Stewart joins Nick Smith as the second commitment of the day for McElwain and his staff on Saturday.
