Marco Wilson signed his letter intent and is officially a Gator on Wednesday. Wilson is expected to make a big impact as a freshman at corner, since Florida will be losing a number of its starters to the NFL draft.

The four-star cornerback committed to Jim McElwain and his staff received Wilson's pledge on August 1. Wilson is following his older brother, Quincy Wilson's, footsteps. He chose UF over other offers from Miami, Oklahoma, USC and Tennessee to name a few. The Gators always seemed to be in the driver's seat, fighting with the Canes and the Trojans. In the end, Wilson's relationship with UF through his brother and his connection with UF assistant, Torrian Gray, after his addition last spring, sealed the deal for the in-state school.
“I’m just ready to come and work hard and get ready to compete for that starting position,” Wilson said after his official visit to Florida. “We need some depth right now. Bringing in these guys is a good deal. They are some great guys.”
"I just really love he coaching staff there [at Florida]," said Wilson. "They are really doing a good job up there."
"Wilson is a defensive back with great intelligence and awareness. He loves to play press coverage where he gets aggressive and physical at the line of scrimmage. He has shown he can play off the ball as well," said Scout Analyst Corey Bender. "He really does a great job of keeping things in front of him, he plays with his head up, and he seems to put himself into a good position to make a play on the ball. He tracks the ball well. He could be a great nickel prospect as well. He has solid size, he is strong, and he will help against the run."
