Ventrell Miller picked Florida over suitors including: Miami (Fl), South Carolina, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Louisville and Kentucky. The Gators offered the Lakeland native back in May during spring evaluation, and the three-star linebacker committed to the Gators a little over a month later. He never wavered from his pledge and only took an official visit to UF this month.
I'm going with Florida," Miller told Scout. "It's because of the relationship with the coaches, and I feel like I could be a very big priority in their defense up there.
"I talk with (defensive backs) coach (Torrian) Gray, and I think I have a good connection with him because he comes from the same area and school, so we just have a good bond together."
"Miller is that old school, throwback type of linebacker that diagnoses and reacts very well in the middle of the defense," said recruiting analyst Corey Bender. "He flashes impressive closing speed when operating north and south, and really makes his presence known when making initial contact with his opponent as well. Miller is a pad-popping linebacker that plays the game with a lot of force and emotion, but also plays sideline to sideline with a nice motor. Miller is light on his feet and shows no problem changing direction as well."
