Jake Allen named Florida his leader immediately after picking up his offer in June, 2015. Just a month later, the signal caller from South Florida picked the Gators over offers from NC State, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Cincinnati and Florida Atlantic.
"I usually talk to coach Nuss and coach T-Skip, who's the running backs coach," Allen said. "They're just like family and it's a cool atmosphere up there. If you go somewhere where you're not comfortable, then what is that? I'm just comfortable there."
"It feels amazing to get this offer," Allen said after picking up the Gators offer. "I'm beyond excited by the opportunity that is at hand. My personal QB coach (Eric Kresser) went there, as well as Tim Tebow. I grew up loving him."
"He has a very solid frame, a big arm and showed repeatedly the ability to deliver the ball on time and with very good accuracy," said National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins that saw Allen at the Elite 11 Finals.
"Allen is a quarterback who quietly leads," added recruiting analyst Corey Bender. "He works hard, he wants to be the best, and he is one you can build a team around. Has played mostly out of the shotgun, so he is very comfortable getting the ball deep and more times than not, he knows where he is going with the ball quickly. Makes good decisions. His release is a strength. Very compact, quick. A pure pocket-passer who has a great feel for the game inside the pocket. Good accuracy."
