Florida has a few running backs on its board in 2018:
Lorenzo Lingard is a frequent visitor to Gainesville. The four-star running back has been on campus several times this past fall for games. At this time, Auburn, Florida State and Miami are also schools that have stood out to Scout's fourth ranked back.
Although Ricky Slade committed to Penn State recently, UF will continue to keep tabs on the four-star running back from Virginia. The Nittany Lions appealed to Slade due to his comfort level with the staff in State College. The CD Hylton playmaker has also been involved with the recruiting process since he was in middle schools, so he is tired of the process. Other schools involved: Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
Justin Watkins is committed to Florida State. The Vanguard running back, however, says he talks regularly with Texas, Tennessee and Florida as well. Watkins says he has the best relationship with the Gators staff. Greg Nord is his main recruiter at UF.
FSU is recruiting Watkins as a slot receiver or cornerback. He says he likes that because he has the opportunity to play both sides of the ball.
Another Florida State pledge is on this list, James Cook. Cook, whose brother, Dalvin Cook, played at FSU, committed to the Noles last March. The younger cook has visited the Gators previously and is expected to visit this spring. His main recruiter at West Virginia was Ja'Juan Seider, who is now at Florida.
The third Seminoles pledge on the board is Charles Strong. A Gainesvlille native, the OK Younge standout has made the trip to The Swamp the past few months. With his proximity to campus he is one never to overlook.
Chris Curry has plenty of suitors including: Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Miami, UNC and Rutgers. Many point to the Canes as an early favorite.
