The Gators are 0-3 on the road this season but have a perfect 10-0 home record. UF (10-3) will host FGCU (11-2) Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at McKethan Stadium

Florida got on the board first with a run in the third inning. Deacon Liput reached with a one-out single and scored on Dalton Guthrie’s RBI single for a 1-0 lead.

FGCU strung together a few hits and tied the game in the bottom half of the inning on a RBI single from Richie Garcia.

In the fourth, the Eagles exploded for four runs, highlighted by Julio Gonzalez’s bases-clearing triple to deep center field that gave FGCU a 5-1 lead.

The Gators got a run back in the fifth after a pair of two-out hits. Liput notched his second hit of the night with a double off the green monster in left field and scored on Mark Kolozsvary’s RBI single.

A pair of walks from reliever Andrew Baker proved costly in the sixth. A sacrifice bunt put runners on second and third with no outs and Matt Reardon followed with a RBI single to make it 6-2 Eagles. Gonzalez notched his fourth RBI of the night with a single that added another run.

Florida got a run in the eight on Blake Reese’s RBI double that scored Guthrie from first for the final margin.
