Ligon Likes The Gators

David Ligon explains why he likes the Florida Gators and some other schools. Ligon, a defensive end from Memphis, broke his leg and will start rehab in a few weeks.

David Ligon is one of the top prospects from the state of Tennessee. The senior from Memphis Christian Brothers High School has numerous scholarship offers from some of the nation's finest schools. And the offers still stand despite breaking his leg (fibula) in the second game of the season.

"Oklahoma actually offered me after I broke my leg," said Ligon. "That says alot. I like the way they rotate everyone. Of course, I like Florida because they were one of the first schools to offer and I can get early playing time there. They need defensive linemen and I love their tradition. Florida is my leader right now. Memphis is a team that is home to me and my father went to school there. I know a lot about them and my cousin plays for Memphis. I also like Alabama and Tennessee. I want to wait and see what happens with Alabama and I have always followed Tennessee because I have lived in Tennessee. I also like Georgia Tech."

Ligon, 6-5 and 269 pounds, is out of his cast and now in a walking boot. He should start rehab in about two weeks or so. Ligon camped this summer at Notre Dame, Florida, Tennessee and Memphis.
