Jashaun Corbin is a recruit on the rise in the state of Florida and on Friday he made the trip to Gainesville to check in on the Gators.
"My visit was great," said the Holy Episcopal Trinity running back. "I enjoyed it a lot. What stood out was how much the entire staff really wanted me."
According to Corbin, during the visit he was able to tour the campus extensively - seeing not only the athletic side but also the academic side. However, at the end of the day sitting down with the coaches and seeing the team in action during practice were things that left an impression.
What stood out about practice was "how hype they were during practice and how in tune everybody was."
One staff member Corbin spent some time with was Florida's new running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider. Seider joined the staff in February, and this was Corbin's first opportunity to speak face-to-face with the Florida assistant.
"I liked everything about him," he said. "I liked how he coaches and how he makes his guys feel like family."
Seider and the Gators staff made their message very simple, "they said keep working hard and being a leader. They love my film and want me to come back up. Also, to be apart of Gator nation."
So how did Gator nation impress Corbin?
"They are one the top schools on my list,"he said.
Florida is not the only school after the Sunshine State playmaker, however. Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, UNC and Oregon are some other schools that are in the mix. With that in mind, Corbin is hoping to take a few more visits to explore his options.
"I'm planning out of state visits but I don't know where yet."
