Big Receiver Ladson commits to Gators

At 6-foot-4, it is hard to not notice Frank Ladson Jr. on the football field. The fleet-footed wide receiver from Homestead South Dade High School has been garnering interest on the football field and the Florida Gators made him a priority. On Saturday he became the third member of the 2019 class for the Gators as they continue to mine south Florida for prospects.

We caught up with Ladson shortly after he left campus on a Junior Day that Florida held on Saturday. Two wimple words described his commitment to the Gators of which he passed on to head coach Jim McElwain… “Feels great”.

It turns out the south Florida jet has always taken a liking to the University of Florida and with one of his favorite players, Antonio Callaway, from his area of the state playing for the team, he felt like it was just time to go ahead and push the button.

“Florida has always been one of my top schools and with my favorite (receiver) being there and getting a feel for the school and coaches it felt like the right thing to do.

It was easy for the coaches at Florida to go ahead and go after Ladson. They liked the things he brings to the table.

“My film and my size,” he said when asked about what the staff liked about him. “(I’m) a consistent receiver with great ability to stretch the field.”

Ladson joins Largo defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrellsand New Smyrna Beach safety Jaleel McRae as the three commitments in the 2019 class for the Gators. Florida is hosting a number of 2018 and 2019 prospects on campus this weekend.
