South's No. 13 OT John Campbell feels like a priority for the Gators.

With spring evaluation upon us, John Campbell is receiving a few visits from coaches. One school that stopped by was Florida. The three-star OT discusses Florida and his recent visits to Gainesville and to UF's in-state rival, Miami.

John Campbell's stock has risen plenty this spring, picking up offers from the likes of Alabama and Florida this spring. On Tuesday the Gators did not waste any time and headed to Dr. Phillips to check in on the offensive tackle.

"They visited my school yesterday [Tuesday] that was great," said Campbell. "[Florida wide receivers] Coach [Kerry] Dixon came by and so did [offensive line] Coach [Brad] Davis came to the school. "Those guys are real with you. They really want me and I am a top priority for them."

The three-star lineman from Orlando did not just hear that he was a top priority for Florida, he felt it, since he was among one of the first prospects to receive a visit from the Florida staff this spring. Campbell has visited Gainesville a few times this spring, including his most recent visit when he attended the Orange and Blue Debut spring game. In these last few weeks and his previous visits, Campbell has been able to learn more about Florida's new offensive line coach.

Davis "seems like a family guy," he said.  "He cares about the players you can tell. I think he has made them better since they got in there. I think most of them have improved."

Although Florida has certainly made its intentions known to Campbell, another in-state school has also made sure Campbell understands he is high on their lists as well.

The Canes "are telling me that I'm a top priority," said the South's No. 13 tackle in 2018.  "It makes me feel great and most of it has been coming for [ Miami head] coach [Mark] Richt too."

Campbell recently visited Coral Gables.

"Miami is a great place," he said. "I went three-days in a row. I went to practices and meetings and saw the education part too."

Although he saw plenty of things he liked during his trip to Miami's campus, there is one thing that grabbed his attention the most.

"The practices stood out," he said.  "I got to see Nevaughn Donaldson out there work. Their practice is similar to the practices in my school. They practice with a lot of intensity."

Campbell is courting several suitors at the moment including: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, and UCLA. He says every school on this short list has been recruiting him the same, and he has yet to trim his list further.

He does plan to take more visits, however, he has only one set which is to Miami this weekend. Although he does not know an exact timeline, he is planning to early enroll, so a decision will come before National Signing Day.

"I want a good line coach so that is the first thing [I'm looking for in a school]," he explained.  "I want a coach that can mould me into a better player, a stronger player."
